What's your 'Hometown'?
The story of the East Indies is one of a distant land shrouded in mystery and folklore, once known to the world only for its fine spices.
The ancient Greek historian Herodotus wrote about spices from this faraway land. In his time, the known world stretched only as far as the Indus River in India, and the lands beyond were simply called “East of the Indus,” which later became known as the East Indies. This vast archipelago remained terra incognita until the age of exploration, when travelers like Marco Polo finally set foot on its shores. He described the East Indies as “a very rich archipelago, producing pepper, nutmegs, galingale, cubebs, cloves, and many precious spices.”
Long known as the Spice Islands, Indonesia is home to around 10% of the world’s flowering plant species. Inspired by this abundance, we source exceptional botanicals from across Indonesia to craft our small-batch handmade gin in Bali, the Island of the Gods. A vibrant and expressive contemporary gin, Bali Pomelo Pink Gin captures the essence of tropical citrus and delicate florals, built around the distinctive character of locally grown Bali pomelo. A bright, modern gin designed for versatility, equally suited to refreshing highballs and vibrant contemporary cocktails.
